XiP
Using poynting's theorem how do you figure out the direction of the vector using the direction of E (electric field) and the direction of H (magnetic field), how do you figure out the direction of propagation? The answer is suppose to be simple like point your thumb in direction of E and curl towards H but every time I do that it doesn't come out right? XiP
Never mind I just figured it out.. Put your thumb in the direction of E, index finger in the direction of H (which is relative to which side of the wire you're on so your index finger will either point towards you or away from you) then your middle finger will point in the direction of power propagation.
